The problem as I see with this shaver is the fact that it doesn't do a good job of shaving somebody like me - an 18 year old with VERY sensitive skin who wants a clean shaven look without the irritation burn of a wet razor. I dont have particularly thick hair either, it just doesn't do the job as well as I would expect a Braun shaver to. If it does shave all of the hair cleanly off it would involve me using the cutter foil and really almost hacking away at my neck for a good 10 minutes - at which point I have the same amount, if not more irritation than a wet shaver in over double the time.
It is not a bad shaver by all means, but somebody like me is not compatible with this - if your skin is tough enough to not be burning for hours after shaving, then this is a good shaver as it is cheap. Apart from that though, I cannot recommend it from any personal experiences I have had.
Being a teenager, I was looking for something up from the lightweight travel Braun shaver I had been using for about a year seen as shaving is now a daily activity for me. I wasn't looking to spend a fortune on a shaver, and this compact attractive Braun was perfect for the job.
Using either mains power or the rechargeable built in battery means its perfect for use at home, although for traveling its not that great (the foil cover is detachable and really likely to break or just fall off, and there is no pouch to put it in either) but for under £30, what do you want.
Its got a normal foil part, and a pop-up extra cutter that comes up along side of the foil getting longer hairs as you move the shaver over your face - which is really effective, much more so than the foil part on its own, and then there is the trimmer part that flips up for doing sideburns or whatever separately.
When the cutter is up it feels a bit uncomfortable, but that's because I'm used to the foil on its own, and it will probably just take some getting used too.
It's a light (in weight) shaver, and is an attractive dark blue/purple plastic.
I imagine that somebody older than me (I'm 18) would want a double foil and cutter system like Braun has on their more expensive shavers, but this is a great step up from what I was using before, and should be perfect for the next year or two.
Recommended for teens, young adults... and cheapskate old people too.
